There it stands, on a hill of the inconspicuous but sophisticated island of Tinos. Villa Thyme Flies I stretches in layers and in absolute geometry, landscaped with respect to the archetypal Cycladic natural environment of bare hills and unlimited views to the vastness of the Aegean Sea. Built entirely of local stone by traditional craftsmen and designed in a contemporary minimalist style, the house is in perfect harmony with the unique character of Tinos: an island loved by artists for its wild, unspoilt beauty and rich tradition.
The minimalist style of the interior furnishings and decoration in shades of white and grey pays homage to traditional Cycladic simplicity with a contemporary twist and enhances the stunning views. The walls are white with polished cement floors creating a special atmosphere. The villa has 4 en-suite bedrooms on three different levels, while an autonomous guesthouse (called ‘cell’ by the locals) offers an additional bedroom (along with a small kitchen and bathroom).
The pool, almost perched on the edge of the hillside, is the perfect spot for lazy hours, with dazzling panoramic views. A few steps away, the beautifully designed pergola provides shelter from the island’s strong ‘meltemi’ winds, so guests can enjoy a delicious meal, perhaps using freshly picked produce from the property’s vegetable garden.
Thyme Flies I is part of a two villa complex with Thyme Flies II (also part of our villa portfolio) – the two almost identical independent 4 bedroom villas can be rented together or separately.
